Successful Yard Sale on Sonnenstraße

Published

Old items were for sale at many booths in the courtyard on the Sonnenstraße campus.

On Saturday, September 12, people were browsing and rummaging through items in the courtyard of the Fachhochschule Dortmund on Sonnenstraße, and many a treasure found a new owner. Together with the three student councils at the location, Fachhochschule Dortmund participated in the courtyard flea markets in the Kreuzviertel neighborhood.

With perfect flea market weather, staff and students offered clothing, books, household goods, and many other treasures—both big and small—at their booths. Numerous visitors from the Kreuzviertel found their way to the courtyard, ensuring a well-attended and lively flea market throughout the day.

There was also plenty of positive feedback from the sellers. In addition to selling, the focus was above all on interaction: with colleagues, students, and people from the neighborhood who might not otherwise have made their way to campus.

Following this successful debut, one thing is certain: this won’t be the last courtyard flea market on Sonnenstraße. In the future, Fachhochschule Dortmund plans to continue participating in the courtyard flea markets in the Kreuzviertel.
