ICINCO'25: Dang Trinh honored for Best Industrial Paper

Published

IDiAL researcher Dang Trinh(Opens in a new tab)  was honored with the Best Industrial Paper Award at the "22nd International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics" in Marbelle, Spain for his paper "High-Precision Contour Tracking for Mobile Manipulators in Large-Scale Industrial Applications".

About the paper

Based on the mobile manipulator developed in the MobileRobot  research project (a combination of a mobile robot platform and a robot arm), the paper deals with the segmentation of sensor data in mobile manipulation.

By replacing the one-dimensional distance sensor used in the project with a two-dimensional line laser, the range of possible tasks that MobileRobot can perform has been greatly expanded.

The use of the extended sensor data to determine the position of, for example, a weld seam in the workspace and the resulting possibilities for contour tracking are key points of the paper.
