Political decisions have a direct impact on everyday life in Dortmund - from public transport and housing to leisure and cultural activities. Students in particular often have special concerns that are not covered in detail in election programs. The two General Student Committees (AStA) of Fachhochschule Dortmund and TU Dortmund University create a direct line between students and the candidates for the mayoral election.
Elections will be held on September 14, 2025. Who will represent the city and the city districts in the coming years? To enable students to make an informed choice in their own interests, the AStA of Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and Dortmund University of Technology invite you to a panel discussion on September 9, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the Audimax of TU Dortmund University (Emil-Figge-Straße 50).
The concept
- Part 1: Five selected students from Fachhochschule Dortmund and TU Dortmund University present their vision of the "perfect Dortmund" and discuss their wishes, ideas and challenges.
- Part 2: The candidates for mayor present will answer specific questions from the students, respond to their ideas for Dortmund and answer how they intend to implement the students' concerns.
The ASten are looking for five students who would like to represent their view of Dortmund in the first round of discussions. Applications can be submitted by August 25 via email to podiumsdiskussionasta-tu-dortmundde .
