A special reunion at Fachhochschule Dortmund's Sonnenstraße campus: 19 former mechanical engineering students who graduated from the university 40 years ago came together to share memories and marvel at the development of their alma mater.
A highlight of the meeting was undoubtedly the tour of the modern robotics laboratory of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The former students were impressed by the advances in robotics and automation technology. Compared to the clunky industrial robots, the precision and efficiency of the finely tuned, ultra-modern robot arms was impressive. The excursion to the Sonnenstraße campus took the group through other practical rooms - from the surface laboratory to the metal laboratory to the production technology laboratory - and the state-of-the-art equipment at Fachhochschule Dortmund was particularly emphasized by the alumni.
The reunion of the graduates on 17 November 2023 was organized and prepared by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. In addition to the tour of the campus, there was also plenty of time for discussions and reminiscing.
